How to Compress, Merge, Split & Watermark Confidential PDFs Without Uploading Files to a Server

Published: 4 November 2026Editorial Team · DailyEZToolsReading Time: 5 mins

When working with bank statements, tax returns, signed employment contracts, medical records, or academic transcripts, uploading your PDF to a traditional cloud converter sends a copy of your file over the internet to a third-party server. Even when cloud platforms promise to delete files after an hour, many corporate compliance policies and privacy-conscious users prefer that sensitive documents never leave their computer or phone in the first place.

At DailyEZTools (dailyeztools.com), all 12 of our PDF utilities run inside your web browser tab using client-side JavaScript and HTML5 Canvas/ArrayBuffer APIs.

Complete 4-Step Document Packet Workflow

  1. Remove Unwanted or Blank Pages (Delete PDF Pages): If a scanned packet contains a blank trailing page or an outdated cover sheet, enter the page numbers (e.g., 2, 7-8) to strip them out cleanly.
  2. Combine Supporting Files (Merge PDF): Select multiple PDFs (such as an application form, ID proof, and annexures), reorder them using the ↑ and ↓ buttons, and merge them into a single file.
  3. Stamp Official Page Numbers & Watermarks (Add Page Numbers & Watermark PDF): Add Page 1 of N numbering in the footer so recipients know the packet is complete, and optionally stamp CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT diagonally across pages.
  4. Reduce Final PDF Size for Email or Portal Submission (Compress PDF): Choose Recommended Compression for scanned image PDFs or Light Optimization to strip metadata while preserving selectable vector text.
